Commercial Development and Industries

The speed of development in Plessisville is made possible thanks to the work and the personal implication of many craftspeople.

A multitude of resources welcomes new businesses and accompanies them throughout their projects. These organizations act as the cornerstone for the economic development of Plessisville.

The municipality also has a vast industrial park and highly qualified workers. Employment prospects are therefore very interesting. Just take an annual tour around the Employment Fair to see for yourself.

Its commercial framework offers citizens all the basic services. This sector enjoys excellent growth possibilities due to an active downtown area and the municipality's ever-expanding offer to help young businesses, resulting in new businesses that are profitable to the community.

The Commercial Development Corporation (S.D.C.) of Plessisville is a non-profit organisation the purpose of which is to revive and develop, both economically and commercially, the downtown area of Plessisville. In addition to its role as coordinator of the economic and commercial development of the downtown area, the Commercial Development Corporation works with all its local partners toward sustained growth.

In order to do so, the Commercial Development Corporation of Plessisville devised a plan of action that would implement strategies concerning three key aspects for reviving the downtown area: economic and commercial development, increased liveliness and personal interaction.

The Commercial Development Corporation of Plessisville is also responsible for implementing the “MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING”, which is part of the effort to revive the downtown core, the primary goal of which is commercial leasing through financial assistance.
