Community Life

Leisure Activities

In addition to parks and playgrounds, the population enjoys a multitude of facilities for their leisure activities such as: an arena, a public library (link to french section), a cultural centre (Carrefour culturel), a golf course, baseball diamonds, six outdoor skating rinks, a semi-olympic outside pool with a nearby indoor pool, one indoor and three outdoor tennis courts, five gymnasiums and a community centre.

The liveliness and the vitality of its organisations and social clubs help create an array of small and large scale events that attract a multitude of visitors and contribute greatly to the promotion of an incomparable social and family life environment.

In Plessisville, there are a number of organisations dedicated to promoting recreation, culture and the community. None of the areas, which contribute to its quality of life, can exist without the help of the numerous volunteers working in non-profit organisations.

Everyone plays an important role in his or her own way, giving a remarkable balance to community life. This town has a cultural heritage that encourages those who like to create opportunities, services and activities, to get together and make them happen.

Because of this animated character, Plessisville is a radiant and very spirited town.

"Don’t look for someone in Plessisville at the beginning of the week ... you won’t find them ... because they’re either out singing, dancing, helping someone or meeting somewhere!"
